This is a topic that I have touched on before, but it is an important one that needs more addressing.
For the past few years, I have had a virtual office at Telsec and it has worked well for the image that I want to portray to my clients. I have a professional address and a place I can meet clients when required. Having a professional receptionist answer my calls has also been good for business.
Why am I thinking of upgrading?
When your friends and family know you work from home, they think that means they can call you anytime. The problem is that they do not realize they are distractions to you getting your work done. They would not call you at an office and expect you to be able to speak for a long period of time.
There is also that ability to turn work mode on and off when you go to a physical office space in Toronto. When you are in your Toronto office space, you are sheltered from some of the distractions you get in your home office or your virtual office Toronto.
There are also studies that have shown that people are more productive when they go into an office environment apposed to working from home. This is probably due to the fact that they are surrounded by others who are also in a professional mode.
