Every year, Triovest, the company that manages the Toronto Star Building at 1 Yonge Street (home of Telsec Business Centres) has a free BBQ for the building’s tenants. Everyone in the building, including all Telsec office space for rent Toronto tenants, were invited to the annual BBQ. This is Triovest’s way of thanking all the tenants of the building.
This Thursday, June 13 BBQ was not just a chance for a free lunch, but a chance for office tenants to get to know the building management and the staff who keep everything going. While the meal was complimentary, everyone was encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to help out local food banks. So a lot of food was consumed, but a great deal of food was also donated.
This year they had delicious BBQ pulled pork on a bun, grilled chicken on a bun, and of course, a homemade hamburger. They also had 3 different types of salad (coleslaw, a mixed green salad and potato salad), along with complimentary cans of pop and bottled water. The best part was they also had several choices of ice cream bars – because who does not love ice cream for dessert?
Nadia Cassano of Triovest, who coordinated the event, was kind enough to share a few photos she took. Unfortunately our photographer missed the rush and was only able to get some photos of the event after the large crowds of people had already gotten their lunch and returned to their respective offices.
This is not the only BBQ event that happens around the building. Last week the LCBO (which leases a large amount of office space at One Yonge Street) had a charity BBQ in the parking lot next door and invited everyone in the building to come out and enjoy the good food and give to a good cause – Camp Oochigeas. The camp is a privately funded, volunteer-based organization that provides kids affected by childhood cancer with a unique opportunity for growth through challenging, fun, enriching and magical experiences.
