The Impressive new Financial Hub At 1 Yonge Street Officially Opens

20150722-Financial-Hub-Opening-9 20150722-Financial-Hub-Opening-63Three of Toronto’s leading financial specialists have joined forces to launch a new Banking Centre at 1 Yonge Street (Toronto Star Building) on the Toronto waterfront. Luminus Financial (formerly Toronto Star Credit Union), Interchange Currency Exchange, and CWP Financial Services Inc. (a Sun Life Financial Advisor) have partnered to create a new, amenity-laden, full-service banking experience. This means that small business owners at Telsec Business Centre (on the 18th floor of the Toronto Star Building), now have a convenient, welcoming place to handle all their financial needs without even leaving the building!

According to George De La Rosa, CEO of Luminus: “The hub is designed to foster an environment where individuals can interact with the staff through large open spaces and meeting areas one-on-one, or in a group. It’s a physical expression for what we do already which is build relationships and trust so we can provide the best possible service.”

The Financial Hub breaks with tradition by offering financial solutions in a warm welcoming environment with the latest in banking technologies. The open design encourages collaboration and conversation, providing clients with a personalized experience that meets their specific needs. The Hub also features free WIFI, complimentary meeting space and monthly community events.

The Financial Hub had its Grand Opening on July 22, 2015. Laura Albanese, MPP, Parliamentary Assistant to the Ministry of Finance, was present to help cut the ceremonial ribbon. De La Rosa added: “Today’s opening reflects the future of where our industry is going. We have designed Luminus Financial for the urban lifestyle – one that supports local communities and business, and uses technology in order to access services in the manner in which busy consumers want.”

“The fact that we encourage local business owners to simply show up, host a meeting or quick conversation in our lounge or boardroom, use WiFi ‎and enjoy a cup of coffee or free water before even discussing how we can help the cause, says a thing or two about why we’re here,” said Chris Poole, Managing Partner of CWP Financial (Sun Life Financial). “First things first – we’re here to build relationships.”

In the coming weeks we will be talking with Chris Poole of CWP Financial to find out more about what CWP brings to the Financial Hub. Chris has indicated that CWP has a great deal to offer entrepreneurs and small business owners in terms of giving them not only sound financial advice, but also some financial products that are specifically aimed at small businesses.

The Financial Hub is just one of the new building amenities that having an office at 1 Yonge Street has to offer. Watch for a future blog that will cover all the changes occuring at the Toronto Star Building and the newest amenities.
