The Government Has Introduced Their Budget’s, Do You have Yours?

On January 17, 2012, Toronto City Council approved a balanced 2012 Operating Budget. On March 27, 2012, the Province of Ontario presented its budget. Only two days later on March 20, 2012 the Federal Government of Canada handed down its budget. These budgets are a way for governments to have a clear guideline of where they will be spending tax dollars for the next fiscal period. As well, this is a time the governments have to try to address debt and how they will pay down the debt accumulated by years of running deficit budgets. The one area that I do not see governments addressing is their expenses on office space for lease Toronto. Depending on their corporate charter, large businesses with different year-ends also prepare a budget and plan for the coming year. They too need to know what...

A Toronto “Office Space” theme Party

Yesterday I received a very odd piece of mail at my Toronto office space. There was no return address on the envelope only an Initech logo (yes the fictitious software company in the movie “Office Space”). What made the envelope weirder was that it was stapled shut. When I finally opened the envelope, I found a pink slip of paper that had been purposely wrinkled to look like it had been scrunched up and thrown away. It had my name on it and it was a notice to inform me that my services at Initech would no longer be needed. Stapled to the pink slip was a letter. The letter explained that it was an invitation to an “Office Space” themed party sometime in mid April. I was impressed that the pink slip had been personalized by inserting my name; I was even more impressed that the letter was qui...

The Tale of Two Companies with Toronto Office Space

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom and information, today is not the age of foolishness, it is the epoch of what we belief to be the future, it is the epoch of business incredulity, it is the season of Light,  the season of Darkness has just passed, this is the spring of hope for businesses, the winter of despair is behind us, we have everything before us… ok you get the idea, but that is where the comparison and parody of Charles Dickens’ book ends and we begin The Tale of Two Companies with Toronto Office Space. In this Tale of Two Companies with Toronto Office Space, we shall call the first company Forte and the second company Unanimous. Fans of Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice will recognize those names as the team names for thi...

A downtown Toronto office space for rent just minutes from where the action is!

A story in the Feb. 9th Metro Toronto News revealed a startling fact from the recently released 2011 Census. A small downtown pocket from Lake Ontario north to Front St., west to Bathurst St. and east to Spadina Ave. has seen explosive growth in the last several years. In 2006, the population in that area was 1,106. It is now 5,911 – a 400%-plus increase and more than triple the average population density (per square kilometre) for the rest of the city, the article concluded. A similar influx of people is now occurring in the Bay St./Yonge St. area around Lake Shore Blvd. where several new condos have been built. But where are all these people working? Well, many are remaining downtown! And one of the most convenient options in downtown Toronto office space for rent (commercial office spac...

March Break may be over but March Madness is On at Telsec Toronto Office Space

As March Break is ending the March Madness is just getting started at Telsec Toronto office space, but not in the way you may be thinking. When most people think of March Madness, they are thinking about the NCAA basketball tournament that leads up to the Sweet Sixteen and the final four who will compete for the NCAA Championship. Yes, the NCAA Championship is talked about a great deal in the halls and kitchens at Telsec’s office space Toronto and people book boardrooms that are equipped with HD TV sets to watch the games. The biggest interest in NCAA Basketball comes from gamblers. I am told that more bets are place on March Madness, Sweet Sixteen and Final Four games than any professional sport championships. Telsec does not allow any gambling at its downtown Toronto office space, ...

Co-Working Clients Can Save Money on Airlines and Taxis When they ask Staff Advice

A few days ago, a Co-working client asked a Telsec administrative staff member for a reference to a preferred limo service from Pearson International Airport.  They told the staff member that they were putting together an Itinerary for a customer who would be visiting from Chicago. The quick thinking coworking Toronto office staff, reminded the client that they could save them and their customer a great deal of money and hassles if they skipped Pearson International Airport and flew via Porter Airlines directly to the Billy Bishop Toronto Island Airport. The cost of the ticket and landing taxes would save them a great deal of money. The office space Toronto staff also mentioned that the cost of the taxi from the Toronto Island Airport to the Telsec co-working office space at 1 Yonge Street...

So what is a virtual office and what is telecommuting?

Many experts say that excessive traffic congestion on roads and surging infrastructure costs in almost all the major business cities of the world are forcing companies to adopt “virtual office” models in order to telecommute to work. So what is a virtual office Toronto and what is telecommuting? According to Wikipedia “A virtual office is a combination of off-site live communication and address services that allows users to reduce traditional office costs while maintaining business professionalism. Frequently the term is confused with ‘office business centers’ or ‘executive suites’ which demand a conventional lease, whereas a true virtual office does not require that expense.” One problem with the Wikipedia explanation is that the author of the Wiki is mistakenly tr...
