Alexandre Bilodeau Ends Gold Medal Drought on Home Soil

Tonight Canadian Olympic history was made when Mens Moguls skier Alexandre Bilodeau took Canada’s first ever Gold medal at a Canadian hosted Olympic Games. Watching the games on TV gave me a chance to watch it live on CTV then ten minutes later on taped delay on NBC.  The American commentators on NBC almost sounded more excited that Canada had finally won Gold at home. Now with that cloud no longer over Team Canada’s head, the door is now open for more Canadian athletes to win gold.

Canada is expected to win many more gold medals in various sports, but the One gold medal that most Canadians are looking forward to will be mens ice hockey. Tonight team Canada members started to arrive in Vancouver and what better way to be greeted, than with news of Canada winning first gold.
